The Skylink Learning Theater is an innovative new system that uses the latest satellite and computer technology to bring you high quality science material created by a team of N.C. teachers led by USA Today 2000 Teacher Team Member and finalist in the Network of Educator Astronaut Teacher’s Program, Betty Bigney.

The Skylink Learning Theater offers many advantages to the schools it serves. Each school has its own receiver allowing on demand access to materials without draining bandwidth from the school’s network. Teachers have access to these materials in any classroom or school location at any time. Staff development can be seen live or stored for later viewing which allows teachers and administrators greater flexibility in their instructional day.

Skylink can also provide communication uplinks from the North Carolina Department of Education or other locations in the state, either live or on demand. In this way, Skylink can save considerable time and travel costs for school administrators and teachers across N.C.
